Over 2,000 people took part in The Kidney Wales annual HSBC Cardiff 10K and 2K on Sunday the 7th of September. The run was a huge success with World Famous Soprano Katherine Jenkins, Kidney Wales newest Patron starting both races.
Tom Humphries, 23 won the 10K race crossing the finishing line with a time of 29:45 and Rebekah Randall, 31 was the first female with a time of 33:17.

Runners travelled from all over the country to run the unique city route which provided a sneak peak of what the city has to offer. Laura Pike from Gwent said: It was well worth the drive down. The 10K route was very enjoyable, the weather conditions were perfect, and I achieved a personal best, there’s nothing more I could ask for.
The 2K Fun Run, run by hundreds of children and their parents, the youngest runner aged only 3 years old, were welcomed over the finishing line with winner medals presented by Katherine Jenkins herself.
The day also saw the launch of Cwtch a mascot for the Donate Wales Campaign led by the Kidney Wales Foundation. Cwtch proved very popular with everyone on the day as he welcomed runners over the finishing line.
The Kidney Wales Foundation achieved their very own Personal Best as 35 teams entered the Corporate Team Challenge with the Fire-Service Team Finishing first with a combined time of 2:40:09.
Roy J. Thomas, Chairman of the Kidney Wales Foundation, said: This year’s HSBC Cardiff 10K Run was one of our most successful ever.
