COVID-19 Treatments
and Neutralising Monoclonal
Antibodies – An Update
Dr Mike Stephens to Host live Q&A update on the latest COVID treatments including neutralising monoclonal antibodies.
Late in 2021 we learned that there would be new treatments available to those most vulnerable to COVID-19 as an addition to vaccinations. The new antiviral and antibody treatments for Covid-19 are available for people aged 12 and over who have a positive PCR test for the virus and are at highest risk of getting seriously ill. A doctor or specialist will confirm if you are eligible for treatment. The eligible groups of kidney patients entitled to be considered for the new treatments include:
- Those who have received B cell depleting-therapies or equivalent immunosuppression (eg rituximab)
- Had an organ transplant or equivalent immunosuppression (eg immune-mediated kidney disease)
- All CKD 4 and 5 patients, including those on dialysis
