Parents being asked to stay and watch too and maybe even get involved? The team at Transplant Sport are eager for all to feel welcome and to join the Transplant Sport Fun.

Coaches will be taking the team through sessions including Badminton, Table Tennis, Boccia, Tennis, Soft Archery, Volleyball and Athletics!

One of the coaches joining in the Cardiff session is Lewis Evans, long time Kidney Wales supporter and medal winning sprinter. Lewis received a kidney from his mother in 2017. Here Lewis tells us a why he feels passionately about supporting Kidney Wales and Transplant Sports and why you should get involved.

Lewis says “Since my transplant, Kidney Wales have supported me in so many ways. They have supported me with getting back into sport, especially to compete in Transplant Sport. Transplant sport is a great opportunity to compete and have fun with other transplant recipients but also a fantastic chance to meet and make new friends along the way.”

Hollie Simpson will be joining Lewis on the day to coach the participants through a magnificent day of fun and excitement! Hollie was born with Chronic Kidney failure at birth and received a transplant from her father in April 2008. Hollie shares why she is excited for the session in Cardiff and why she hopes to inspire her young audience.

Hollis says “I’ve always enjoyed being part of Transplant Sports Teens & kids.

Attending different locations all over the UK, and now at the age of 19 years old, I’m honoured to be an ambassador for this wonderful charity.”

“My love of sports has seen me win many gold medals at the British Transplant games, and enjoyed my best ever games in Newport, South Wales in 2019 winning 6 gold medals.”

“It’s my intention now to give back to the children who have been through the same medical experience as myself.”

We are excited to hear how you got on at the session and can’t wait to see how it went! Find out how you can get involved now, visit https://transplantsport.org.uk/event/ts-kids-cardiff-sports-activity-session/
