Kidney Wales, is today celebrating after being awarded £9,979 in National Lottery funding to assist our work supporting members of our kidney community during the cost of living crisis.

The new funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, which distributes money raised by National Lottery players for good causes and is the largest funder of community activity in the UK, will help us deliver a series of six ‘Let’s Talk’ sessions over the next 12 months offering advice and guidance helping reduce anxieties around the effects of the cost of living crisis.

Each ‘Let’s Talk’ session will focus on areas of concern highlighted by our community including: Gas and electricity – tips on saving money, Maximising income, Welfare Money saving tips whilst Food shopping and support for Mental wellbeing. Bilingual information leaflets will also be produced alongside these sessions which will be distributed and available for download.

Finally, this funding will provide emergency financial aid of up to £500 supporting patients in a time of hardship covering essentials such as food; rent; purchase of white goods.
