Kidney Wales are delighted to announce that they have been chosen as the official charity partner for the Bryn Meadows Caerphilly 10K!

This year’s Caerphilly 10k will take place on Sunday the 18th of June. The 10k race will start at 10am, with a 2k race starting at 9:15am. Both races will start and finish behind the legendary Caerphilly Castle and the route will take its runners through the historic town.

2017 will mark the Caerphilly 10k’s fifth year and with 2,500 runners expected to attend this year’s race, it is growing in popularity! With a course record of 31 minutes 17 seconds, set by Owain Jones, many competitors will be taking to the start line with the hopes to have their name go down in the race’s history book.

The race is organised by Caerphilly County Borough Council with support Welsh Athletics, Run Wales, Sport Wales and now charity partner, Kidney Wales!

From their humble beginnings in 1967, Kidney Wales is now celebrating its 50th year as a charity. Standing proudly as charity partner for the Bryn Meadows Caerphilly 10k the race adds to the charities celebrations of their milestone year.

As always, Kidney Wales is thankful for the support they receive from their supporters. Anyone looking to run the 10k race in Caerphilly is welcome to fundraise for the charity and receive a fundraising pack (including a running vest!) to help gather sponsorship. Kidney Wales will also be there on the day to support their runners!

All money raised for the charity goes towards supporting families affected by kidney disease in Wales. From hosting support groups to funding equipment for renal units, Kidney Wales works towards supporting families and changing lives.
