Rosie has been recognised with the Bridgend Citizenship Award for her outstanding dedication to raising awareness of kidney disease across Wales. As a volunteer with Kidney Wales for over three years, Rosie has inspired communities with her commitment, compassion, and personal story.

Rosie’s journey is truly remarkable. Not only has she spent years educating others about kidney health, but she also became a living kidney donor, giving one of her kidneys to her best friend, Zoe. Through both her volunteering and her personal experience, Rosie has helped countless people understand the importance of organ donation and kidney health.

Over the years, Rosie has held awareness talks, led the running of stalls at community events, and supported cheer stations at various running events—bringing energy, guidance, and encouragement to everyone involved.

Reflecting on the award, Rosie said:

“Winning the Bridgend Mayor’s Award was an incredible honour that meant so much to me.  Volunteering with Kidney Wales has been profoundly rewarding. Getting to meet so many amazing, inspiring people and being able to raise awareness for the incredible work they do as a charity, as well as for living organ donation, has been truly special. Beyond that, it has given me friends for life, my kidney family, whose kindness, courage, and support have touched me in ways I will never forget”

Kidney Wales is proud to celebrate Rosie’s achievement and the positive impact she has made across Wales. Her dedication is a reminder of the difference one person can make in raising awareness, supporting others, and inspiring change in their community.
