Kidney Wales Foundation is proud to announce a special Christmas Concert. On Thursday 11th December 2014 at The City Parish of St John the Baptist, Cardiff, Kidney Wales will host an evening of festive musical entertainment.
Welsh tenor Rhys Meirion has enjoyed international success in opera and recording and national success in broadcasting. Following the tragic death of his beautiful sister Elen, who made the “incredible selfless” decision to be an organ donor. Rhys has been a strong advocate for organ donation and supporter of the Opt Out system. Kidney Wales is delighted that Rhys leading our Christmas Concert this year.
Performing alongside Rhys will be the acclaimed Pendyrus Male choir, Soprano Ellen Williams and Singer Lucie Jones.
Male voice choirs are a tradition in Wales and since it’s early beginnings in 1924 The Pendyrus has been one of the best. Winning acclaim both Nationally and Internationally with their sold out concerts and recordings.
Ellen Williams is a Soprano with a growing reputation, performing recitals including New York at the St David’s Day celebrations and Wales Millennium Centre. Kidney Wales Foundation supporters had the pleasure of hearing Ellen perform at our Annual Gala Dinner and thank her for her continued support for Kidney Wales.
Lucie Jones wowed the X Factor in Series 6 and has gone on to forge a successful career in musical theatre. Lucie has played Cosette in Les Miserables, Victoria in American Psycho and Meat in We will Rock you.
