Climbing Yr Wyddfa by night adds a whole new sense of challenge and excitement to this already popular trek. Guided under the moonlight, you’ll make your way steadily towards the summit, where you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking and memorable moment as the sun rises over the stunning landscapes of Eryri (Snowdonia National Park).

As daylight begins to break, you’ll descend the mountain surrounded by incredible panoramic views, watching the scenery come to life around you. It’s a magical experience and a truly special way to connect with the natural beauty of Wales.

• Start/Finish: Snowdon Mountain Railway Station, Llanberis

The Challenge

• Distance: 9 miles (14.5km) return
• Ascent: 3,199 feet (975 metres)
• Duration: Approximately 6 hours (there and back)
• Difficulty: Medium

This guided trek is suitable for those with a reasonable level of fitness who are ready to take on a rewarding physical challenge.

On the Day

Your journey will begin in Llanberis, where you’ll meet your group before setting off under the night sky. With experienced guides leading the way, you’ll follow well-established paths up the mountain.

Reaching the summit in time for sunrise is a truly unforgettable moment—watching the sky change colour as the sun rises over the mountains is an experience like no other. After taking in the views, you’ll make your way back down as the landscape reveals itself in full daylight.
