Kidney patients and fundraisers alike turned out in force on Sunday March 24th to support the annual Kidney Wales Walk for Life. Walkers all over Wales braved the wintry conditions to put their best feet forward for the charity who support kidney patients and their families across Wales.

With 45 walks taking place in communities all over Wales hoping to smash last year’s total of £80,000 which will go towards providing life-saving equipment and care for kidney patients, training staff at the Children’s Kidney Centre, supporting ground-breaking research into kidney disease, as well as promoting organ donation.

This year’s Walk for Life was also supported by Welsh rugby international Leigh Halfpenny, who is ambassador for the event alongside BBC One Show presenter Alex Jones.

Roy J Thomas, Chief Executive of Kidney Wales said: “Once again the people of Wales have come out to support the Kidney Wales Walk for Life in spite of the weather. We had people walking in town centres, in parks and on the hills. We are extremely grateful for all the support we receive which helps fund the work we do with patients across the country.”
