Kidney Wales receives Funding Award from Postcode Community Trust

Kidney Wales are delighted to announce an award from Postcode Community Trust, a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery. This award will support the core costs of our Patient Information & Support Manager to continue to develop and campaign for the mental and physical wellbeing of our community as we continue through the coronavirus pandemic and beyond.

The grant awarded will support the processing of emergency financial aid for those in need, help provide the best possible guidance and support for our kidney community as we learn to live with Covid-19 and future crisis. Through the publishing of key information and the organisation and hosting of information events we will continue to be there for patients. This funding will allow us to continue to engage with patients, families, our Facebook Kidney Wales community members and more, always emphasising the importance of wellbeing.

We hope by receiving this support, it will enable us to capture the impact of the activities that we hold, through case studies and testimonies, to demonstrate the need and benefits of the wellness of our community. Being a chronically ill patient, family member, or loved one, throughout the pandemic has been an extremely anxious and often uncertain time. Rebuilding confidence and contentment by providing the most accurate and up to date guidance for our community to consider as we learn to live with Covid-19 is the focus know.

“The last 18 months has been a difficult time for us all, with our community vulnerable and shielding, in and out of lockdowns and strict rules and restrictions in place it has been difficult for us to host our typical level of fundraising activities and events. This award is very much welcomed at a key time funding a core role of the charity for 2 days per week until the end of March 2022.   Thank you to the Postcode Community Trust and the players of the People’s Postcode Lottery for supporting our Kidney Community here in Wales”.
