Kidney Wales is celebrating receiving the ‘Awards for all Grant’ from the National Lottery to help digitalise for our Kidney Community

Kidney Wales celebrates being awarded £9,242 in National Lottery funding to assist our work providing the best possible support, information and guidance to our Welsh Kidney Community in the safest and most engaging way.

We want kidney patients to continue to shape our strategy, and influence our work including how we provide support, engage with the community and the types of events you would like us to host.  The new funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, which distributes money raised by National Lottery players for good causes and is the largest funder of community activity in the UK, will continue developing this trend digitally. Strengthening connections with new and existing members of our community as well as improving our communication strategy and developing our forms of engagement with the community.

This award will allow us to plan for and update our website, the hub for providing the most up to date information and guidance.  Navigation around the website will be improved ensuring its user friendly in all formats enabling patients to source the information they require quickly and efficiently.  It will include core costs of our communications officer for one day per week for a period of 12 months producing user friendly and engaging digitalised content.  The award also allows us to host online events connecting our community and involving more patients Wales wide in a safe way.

Ross Evans, Managing Director at Kidney Wales, says: “We’re delighted that The National Lottery Community Fund has recognised our work in this way. Now, thanks to National Lottery players we will be able to adapt to our new ways of working and communicating and continue working hard to provide the best guidance to our community digitally through our online platforms.  This is important particularly at a time where our community are still anxious of the ‘new normal’ we are experiencing as we learn to live with this virus”.
