Kidney Wales are delighted to announce an award of £15,473 from The Postcode Community Trust, a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
This award will help support our kidney community as anxieties and pressures relating to the cost of living crisis continues to grow.
The grant awarded will provide wrap around support to patients for the next 12 months in key areas affected by the cost of living crisis including food poverty, benefits & grants, energy costs, debt and mental wellbeing partnering with organisations such as Trussel Trust, Turn to Us, British Gas energy trust, StepChange and Mind. Individualised advice and referrals will be provided through our Patient information and support manager.
This grant will also support the processing, provision and delivery of 60 £100 wellbeing food vouchers for patients most in need, to ease pressure in their time of hardship.
Ross Evans, Managing Director at Kidney Wales speaks about the award
“The last 3 years has been a difficult time for us all with the Covid-19 pandemic and its affects, followed by the cost of living crisis affecting our kidney community greatly. This award is very much welcomed at a crucial time helping to fund a key role within the charity, providing patient support at a time when it’s most needed as anxieties continue to grow around the cost of living crisis we are facing, as well as practical help for patients most in need. Thank you to the Postcode Community Trust and the players of the People’s Postcode Lottery for supporting our Kidney Community here in Wales”.
