Kidney Wales Research Grant

Applications Are Open

 

Kidney Wales has set aside £30,000 for investment in three scholarships of £10,000 each for the following categories:

Kidney Wales Scholarship Psycho-social care for people with kidney disease TBC
Kidney Wales-Morgan Scholarship

 

Allied healthcare professionals, Psychologists, Social Workers and Renal Nurses Tuesday 7th September
Kidney Wales-Salaman Scholarship Young researchers (young in age or in research career) TBC

 

The first call for proposals, launched today, is for the Kidney Wales-Morgan Scholarship for Allied healthcare professionals, Psychologists, Social Workers and Renal Nurses.

 

The funding may be used flexibly to fund tuition fees, living costs or to back fill posts to free up individuals from their substantive posts to undertake research, over a period of up to three years.

 

The deadline for the Kidney Wales-Morgan Scholarship application is Friday 24th September at 5pm.

Funding decisions will be notified by Friday 7th October.

 

Kidney Wales has a long and proud history of investment in research related to chronic kidney disease. Our current portfolio of research projects includes:

 

  • The ethics of organ donation to children (Salaman & Rhodri Morgan Scholarship)
  • Human Cytomegalovirus (HCMV) Encoded Interleukin-10 (vIL-10): Investigating the Immunomodulatory Effects of vIL-10 and its Suitability as a Novel Marker of Viral Reactivation in Kidney Transplant Patients
  • PhD Research on self- management for Young Adults
  • Why do people say ‘no’ to a kidney transplant? Understanding patient decision making and choice.
