Local Heroes Take on the World’s Toughest Row for Kidney Wales
This week, Nia and her friend Pammie embark on an incredible challenge as they set off to row across the Atlantic Ocean as part of the World’s Toughest Row – Atlantic 2024. Known as Team Lightship Atlantic, they will face gruelling conditions over approximately 3,000 miles of open ocean, testing their endurance, resilience, and determination.
The team was originally scheduled to depart later in the week but, due to favorable weather conditions, the start has been brought forward to Wednesday, December 11th, to make the most of a helpful breeze.
Nia’s Inspiring Story
For Nia, this challenge carries an even deeper meaning. Last year, she donated a kidney to her brother in a life-changing act of love and generosity. Now, she’s continuing her mission to make a difference by raising vital funds for Kidney Wales, a charity close to her heart that supports people affected by kidney disease.
