Third Sector Resilience Fund for Wales Phase 3 Scheme, administered by WCVA awarded to Kidney Wales

Kidney Wales is delighted to announce a successful funding award from the Third Sector Resilience Fund for Wales Phase 3 Scheme, administered by WCVA. This good news comes following a difficult period where fundraised income fell dramatically. With the cancellation of many events and the long-lasting effects of the pandemic, this award will make a huge difference, covering core costs within the charity for a 12-month period, allowing us to remain patient focused through a turbulent time.

Kidney Wales will continue to engage with and provide the best possible support for our Kidney Community. We will capture the impact through case studies, demonstrating its effects on the wellbeing of patients and family members affected by kidney disease.

The award will also enable us to invest sufficient time in diversifying our income streams to include and develop both grant and corporate fundraising. This will help the charity become more sustainable ensuring the limited charity resources are used most effectively.

A full assessment will be conducted on our current events and fundraising activities. You have already been brilliant in your support, when asked for you insights as the heart of our Kidney Community you offered your feedback enabling us to guarantee we are giving you the opportunity to support in any way you wish.

Managing Director Ross Evans says

“Being awarded this grant has the potential to be transformational for Kidney Wales.  The pandemic highlighted our over reliance on event and community fundraising, which has been a key learning for us.  This funding award from the Third Sector Resilience Fund for Wales Phase 3 Scheme, administered by WCVA will help us become more resilient to future challenges and will give us a little breathing space to remain focused on our charitable objectives as we rebuild”.

We’re extremely grateful for this opportunity and will continue to share updates on the progress and impact of this funding award throughout 2022.
