The newsletter format was paper based to ensure patients who could not access on-line information received up-to-date information in a timely manner. Our aim was to produce a series of newsletters, to take patients into the ‘new normal’. The team have reflected on what was achieved, what worked well and why, and you have also had the opportunity to share your views on this. With that in mind, the team have outlined a working plan moving forwards which will include:

  • Producing a further newsletter before the end of the year to provide support during the Christmas period;
  • In 2021 producing quarterly newsletters that will be made available digitally and will include more content. We will be asking individual dialysis units if they would like any printed copies and how many and we will keep this under review;
  • A new series of Virtual Patient Conferences – the next Patient Conference will take place on Wednesday 25th November from 6.00pm to 7.30pm on a Zoom webinar. The title: Keeping Well Over Christmas

As a reminder we have provided IPod Touches for each unit so that patients are able to access online digital information, services and support networks. This includes access to the patient conference series and the newsletter. We would appreciate feedback on how this is working in your units as we progress with this work.  Please e-mail [email protected]
